A big thank you to Mary Walsh for your hard work and dedication over the past number of years. We will all miss you dearly and wish you the best in your retirement.

They also worked together to make catapults to get a better understanding of stored energy and measured the distance a piece of paper travelled to revise their maths skills.

Another big thank you to Eddie Brennan who presented children with their certificates and gave them a few hurling tips.

Sports Mad 🙂
June has been an incredibly busy month regarding sport with children taking part in hurling, camogie, rounders and golf.
‘On the 3rd of June we won our Rounders Féile and we are now All Ireland Champions. It was really fun but we were exhausted afterwards. We were playing in The Heath and beat beat The Heath in the final. There were three Durrow girls on our team. Their names were Aoife, Gráinne and Paige and all the other nine girls were from Cullohill. When the match was over Seosamh Murphy who owns the Castle Arms Hotel kindly bought everyone in for dinner and gave us all chicken goujons. They were lovely.’ By Gráinne

Senior Infants and 1st Class
Every week 4th class read with our senior infants and first class. We love telling them our news and hearing them tell their marvellous stories.
Senior Infants have been learning all about length. Look at our measuring skills!
We were feeling ‘LOVEly’ in senior infants and first class as we created our Valentine’s art!
Senior Infants and First Class had great fun on our visit to the library. We chose our favourite books and read them to each other so everyone could enjoy the super stories!
We had great fun on pancake Tuesday. First we had to learn all the words to do with pancakes in Gaeilge. Then we had to help Ms. King write out the recipe in Gaeilge and then FINALLY we got to make some pancakes and most importantly….. EAT THEM. Is breá linn pancóga!
This month things were getting spooky in 3rd class… We had fun making clay sculptures for Halloween, gloopy Newtonian liquid and sticky Halloween treats in science, writing spells and Halloween poems and stories in English, learning Halloween poems and words in Gaeilge, studying Halloween traditions and comparing them with Day of the Dead in Mexico and figuring out spooky word-problems in maths! Hopefully the ghost teacher from our poem doesn’t make an appearance….
Check out the new news letter from 5th class, giving you monthly updates of what’s happening behind the scenes!
