Primary Games at Croke Park

By Cillian Murphy 6th Class

Last Saturday, June 8th was a very exciting day for me and my family as I got to represent my family, my school and my county in a match at half time in the Joe McDonagh final in Croke Park. We were playing against Offaly. The pitch doesn’t really feel like grass it’s more like astro. There were ten on my team and I was playing in the backs. But I really wanted to try and score so I went up to the forwards. I scored one point when I caught the sliotar and I soloed it for a few seconds, then took a shot from the side and thankfully it went over. The match was over so quickly-it was a short but very special experience!

Hopefully I will get another chance someday to play in Croke Park.

On behalf of Our Lady’s Meadow, we would like to thank Cillian for representing us with such class and we are all extremely proud of him. We will look forward to cheering Cillian on in the future.
