School Garden

A massive thank you to Angelo in Dunne’s Garden Centre who gave us his time and helped us pick out suitable plants for our school garden and to Martin Lawlor who has also helped us in planning for our garden.

Martin was also on hand again to share his wealth of expertise with children from third class and up as we planted different plants, bulbs, herbs, veggies and fruit today. We really appreciate all of Martin’s help as he helps us get our garden back on track. It is always a pleasure seeing Martin coming up the path!

Gardening is proven to benefit children’s physical, mental and emotional health. Gardening also develops life skills, STEAM skills and socialisation skills. Furthermore, a school garden helps to create and maintain connections to the local community and develops an awareness around sustainability.

We are looking forward to more projects throughout the year relating to the garden and can’t wait to see it grow and change as the months go by!
