Firstly, a huge congratulations is in order for our school debate team who have won their first round debate against Rathdowney National School. The team opposed the motion ‘Irish youth are doing their fair share to end poverty and hunger in the developing world’. They were up against a very strong Rathdowney team and worked hard for this well-deserved win. They await details of the next round which will take place in November, so it’s back to the drawing board for now! A huge thanks to Mrs O’ Shea for all the extra hours and dedication it took to support our team in reaching this high standard.

Secondly, another massive congratulations is in order for our girls and boys football teams. Both teams were victorious over both Knock and Cullohill. We are all so proud of both teams from the skills they showed to how they conducted themselves both on and off the field. They are great role-models to our younger classes, many of whom were there to show their support. A big thank you to Ms. Curran and Ms. Neary for all their hard work in training our young teams. Hip-hip hooraaaahhh!!!!

Dogs Trust also payed us a visit during October, reminding us of the responsibilities associated with having a dog. It’s important before adopting or buying a dog that you are sure you have enough time to spend with your dog, adequate space for your dog to roam around in and of course enough money to support your dog. Remember, dogs are for life!
