A very special visitor in school earlier today…

Thank you to the members of Durrow Fire Brigade who visited pupils in 2nd and 3rd class this week to discuss fire safety. They also showed the pupils some safety equipment and the different areas of the fire engine!

Second Class enjoyed a fabulous wreath-making workshop with the knowledgeable Martin Lawlor recently. Martin demonstrated how an Advent Wreath is made using an oasis, foliage and berries. Well done to the boys and girls in 4th, 5th and 6th classes who presented a Science Show for their younger school mates on Thursday, November 27th. The investigations and experiments were very interesting and took a lot of preparation, so they should be very proud of their efforts.

Child Safeguarding Statement and Risk Assessment

On the 5th of November, 2nd and 3rd classes participated in a Gaeilic Football blitz in the Centre of Excellence in Portlaoise. The children enjoyed putting all the skills they have learned into practice and they showed wonderful teamwork and sportsmanship. Well done 2nd and 3rd class!
